Ted, a 12-year-old boy, lives in Thneedville, a town where nature has practically disappeared; there are no trees or flowers. Wanting to win over Audrey, the girl he likes, he decides to find out what she yearns for most of all: a Truffula tree. In his quest, Ted becomes immersed in the story of the Lorax, the ancient and grumpy protector of the forest, and the Once-ler, whose ambition led him to ignore the natural balance.
